RecLab, the modularity as identity

During my period as a freelance graphic designer, I developed the naming and visual corporate identity of RecLab, a new audio recording studio based in Barcelona.

The denomination of the company refers directly to its activity and is formed by two fragments of two different words; Rec for Recording and Lab for Laboratory.

Symbol construction and modular possibilities

The symbol of the brand –shown above— is formed by three red fragments of concentric circles that relate to the universally accepted symbol used to graphically represent the recording action (•REC). The circular symbol connotes concepts inherent to the musical environment such as the rhythm, the dynamism and the creativity. Its forms, moreover, seem a smiling face helping to make the brand nice and memorable.
